Some of you may remember that almost two years ago I grew a moustache, aka a "Mo" during the month of "Movember". THis was in support of research into the treatment of Prostate Cancer. This is a cause close to my heart (not to mention my upper lip!) due to my father being diagnosed with that condition.
I found myself reflecting recently on the tendency for us to support these causes at times when we feel deeply affected by them. At times of crisis within the family or when we ourselves are perhaps directly affected. It occurred to me that, following my father's successful treatment, it all went a bit quiet. In fact, it seems to me that this should be a time when we should honour and recognise how the past efforts of many people over the years have contributed to the development of treatments.
One way we can do this is to grow a Mo all over again! A way of saying "thank you"...
So, I'm on the lookout for sponsors once again too. I'm looking to raise £500 towards this cause and hope that you may find it in your heart to help out a little (or a lot) if you can.
